Our history
ViveLibre originated from ATAM, the social institution created by Telefónica and its employees more than 50 years ago to promote the social integration of people with disabilities and dependent elderly individuals.
From the epicenter of the technological revolution and the defense of human rights, ATAM was able to understand the profound implications that technological change had on the lives of the most vulnerable individuals.
As technology developed, new health problems arose for humans due to their inability to adapt to an artificially modified environment. Demographic changes and shifts in our lifestyle led to new forms of illness.
The care systems inherited from the Industrial Revolution were created to respond to a reality that is completely different from the one we live in today in Western countries. If the trigger for new pathologies lies in the interaction between humans and the world, and we lack the appropriate tools to face this new reality, then it will be in this domain where we must operate.
Thus, ViveLibre was born as a project that goes beyond technology, aiming to foster a new model of social institution in response to a world reshaped by digital technology.
ViveLibre’s solutions act as the technological foundation for a new approach to supporting personal autonomy, freedom, and health care for individuals with higher levels of vulnerability.
